Lets have a closer at the app and how it works!
The app
Once you got the app in the Google Play store, you can easily identify it by the online-convert logo used in the icon.
After opening the app for the first time (or after deleting the conversion history), you will be presented with the welcome screen. Here, you can already find all information you need for using the app. Swiping right anywhere in the app will open a small menu that can bring you back to the home screen, the FAQ or enables you to share the app. Once you have started some conversions, this screen will show the conversions:
- in progress
- drafted
- completed
Selecting a file for conversion is easy. Simply tap on the according button. Files can be uploaded directly from your phone or using a QR code. Additionally, you can record either a video or audio or take a picture to convert it. Select the file format to convert your file to. You can still change this later, as well as specify different options for the conversion. When you set everything to your wishes, tap on the start button to start your conversion.
Depending on the size of your file, the upload and conversion may take a while. In this case, you can tap on “Convert in background”. The app will convert your file as long as you have an internet connection so you can revisit it after a while and use your phone for something else in the meantime. Of course, in case you lose your internet connection, you can easily restart your conversion by tapping on it on the home screen.
Once the conversion is done, you can choose to download the file onto your computer or share it via e-mail or an app you have installed on your phone. This includes social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), messengers (Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Skype, etc.), cloud storage (Dropbox, GoogleDrive, etc.), image sharing apps (Tumblr, Imgur, etc.) and more. After downloading, sharing oder uploading your file, you can immediately delete it again from the Online-Convert.com servers. This is automatically done after 10 downloads or 24 hours as well.
Where’s my file?
Once you downloaded your successfully converted file, you can find it in a separate folder named “OnlineConvert”.
